The most inspiring places on the French Riviera

Les lieux les plus inspirants de la Côte d’Azur
The French Riviera is a source of inspiration for Hercule Studio. Between the sea, vegetation, and unique architecture in vibrant colors, the region creates a perfect backdrop to stimulate creativity. Here is a selection of Hercule Studio's favorite locations.

Pierre Cardin's Palais Bulles by Antti Lovag
Nestled on the heights of Théoule-sur-Mer, the Palais Bulles is a futuristic residence designed by artist Antti Lovag and purchased by renowned fashion designer Pierre Cardin in 1991. Its unique bubble-shaped structure and terracotta color inspired the organic shape of the Achy exercise mat and the Galé comfort pad, with their terracotta color. In addition to its avant-garde architecture, the Palais Bulles offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Artistic events, receptions, and private parties are regularly held there, making the palace a unique place where art and creativity meet, giving it a mythical and captivating appearance.

The Hartung Bergman Foundation
Located in Antibes, the Hartung Bergman Foundation is a venue dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Created by painter Hans Hartung and his wife, photographer Anna-Eva Bergman, the villa houses an artistic research center and occasional exhibitions. It was within the Hartung Bergman Foundation that Hercule Studio had the opportunity to conduct its very first photoshoot. The foundation's pure architectural lines and whitewashed facades, contrasting with the olive trees and swimming pool, provided a minimalist, iconic, and artistic setting for the brand to present its first collection.

Saint-Honorat Island and Lérins Abbey
Located off the coast of Cannes, a 20-minute boat ride away, the island of Saint-Honorat is a little-known gem that combines spirituality, unspoiled nature, and magical architecture. The island, inhabited by a community of Cistercian monks, exudes serenity and calm, inviting reflection and introspection. At its heart, the island of Saint-Honorat is home to a vineyard and the Lérins Abbey. An arched gateway at the entrance to the abbey symbolizes the gateway to the most spiritual part of the site. This arched shape, typical of Mediterranean architecture, notably inspired the creation of the Archy Exercise Mat.

The Maybourne Riviera Hotel
Less historic this time and more contemporary, the Maybourne Riviera hotel is located on the Roquebrune-Cap-Martin peninsula, between Menton and Monaco. Recently renovated by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the hotel is a jewel of modernist architecture and luxury. Its architecture is inspired by the movement of the sea, as if to blend into the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean. It houses several hundred works of art and a contrasting exterior, structured by a striking and unique bright orange. These tones inspired the Bari print by Hercule Studio, composed of a pop of orange and artistic lines of ecru beige.
