This May, Alice Pilate and Hercule Studio are teaming up to offer 1 free month on the "Le Studio by Alice" platform with every mat purchase on their website.
A natural collaboration between two movement professionals, driven by the same conviction: well-being is not just a practice, but a true vision of the body in motion. An accessible, regular, and deeply integrated approach to daily life.
Interview with Alice Pilate, creator of the online platform Studio by Alice.
Alice in 3 words.
Dynamic, challenging, intuitive.
How did Pilates come into your life?
Pilates came into her life in 2016 in Australia. Before that, she had been regularly lifting weights at the gym since 2013. At that time, Pilates was still not very developed in France, unlike in Australia where Reformer Pilates studios were already very prevalent.
Her entry point was directly through Reformer Pilates, with mat work not being a priority initially. The practice gradually became daily, especially at the Body Mind Life studio in Sydney, a reference for Pilates in Australia.
In 2019, she obtained her Reformer Pilates teacher certification in Australia. A few weeks later, the Covid crisis led to border closures and a return to France with no possibility of leaving again. It was under these constraints that a new method was born: without machines, without a studio, live classes on Instagram transformed the principles of Reformer into mat Pilates, accessible everywhere.
How does sport influence well-being?
Sport has been part of her daily life for over ten years. Running and Pilates complement and enrich each other.
The morning becomes a key moment to recenter, activate the body, and set the energy for the day. Pilates works deeply on stabilizing muscles, improves posture, and supports running performance.
Beyond the physical dimension, each Pilates session also becomes a mental workout: concentration, pushing limits, endurance, and commitment. Physical and mental strength evolve together.
The method and the online studio
The developed method is based on mat Pilates inspired by Reformer: dynamic, cardio, demanding, both for the body and the mind.
Sessions flow continuously, without pause, with a full-body approach even during targeted work. A significant place is given to standing exercises, in a logic of functional movement in the face of an often sedentary lifestyle.
Each class is unique, built according to the energy of the moment, without fixed preparation, to guarantee a lively and adapted practice.
Le Studio by Alice is an online Pilates platform bringing together over 250 filmed classes from around the world, more than 15 structured programs, as well as a monthly newsletter. Everything is accessible via subscription, without time or location constraints, to integrate Pilates into a sustainable routine.
Tips for establishing a real movement routine
The recommended approach is to start gradually: about three sessions per week, with short 20-minute formats.
An effective structure can include one full-body class and two more targeted sessions, before gradually increasing frequency.
As Pilates is a low-impact practice, it can be done daily. Results build up over time, but are lastingly integrated into the body and posture.
A daily totem object
Two essentials stand out: a water bottle always within reach and a face roller integrated into the morning skincare routine. Two simple rituals that accompany daily life and support overall balance.
The essentials for a successful session
Little equipment is needed: the body remains the main tool for mat Pilates.
However, the quality of the Pilates mat plays a key role. A good mat should be stable, grippy, and suitable for dynamic flows.
It is in this spirit that the Mar mat from Hercule Studio is designed, conceived for demanding and fluid practices. It supports every movement without slipping, sustaining a precise, committed, and lasting practice. An essential accessory for a complete and high-performing mat Pilates practice.
